Hey, my friend has been struggling with suicide lately and I’d like to provide a viable answer as to why it’s wrong without shoving the Bible down his throat. Advice please?
I’ve struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts most of my life. During that fog, nothing could touch me. I knew suicide was “wrong,” but that didn’t make it less attractive.
While the single greatest piece of advice you could give your friend is, “Don’t do it bro,” that’s the last thing he wants to hear. I’m not sure what magical sentence or foolproof answer or logical argument will talk him down. Saying “Life is a gift” or “You’re worth it” is like trying to throw grapes at a giant.
